Handmade invitations for a Daytona 500 party can be interactive and creative. You can give your guests an early start on the fun with homemade invitations that double as part of a party game. You will need white card stock, black wide tipped markers, fine tipped makers in the colors of your choice for writing and a ruler. Buy larger white envelope around 5x7 inches for this handmade invitation. Cut the white card stock into rectangles that will easily fit into the envelope. Using the ruler, draw a grid pattern, with a fine tipped marker on one side of the card stock. You want your homemade invitation to have a black and white checkered look, reminiscent of a checkered flag. Color in every other square in your grid using a wide tipped black marker. Start the first roll with a black square and the second with a white square; this will insure you get the checkered look. On the back, write your party info at the top, Use the ruler to draw a line at the bottom of the party info, dividing the card into two sections. You now have the checkered pattern on the front of your handmade invitation, the party info on the back at the top and a blank area on the back at the bottom. Look up Dayton 500 info, and put a few questions about the race’s history like:
“Who won the Dayton 500 in 1959 and what was his top speed? Write” prize drawing for correct answers” at the bottom of your homemade invitation. Buy small party prizes with a racing theme. Your guests will love this homemade fun.
