Handmade Groundhog Day Invitations
Instead of buying generic cards to send out for your Groundhogs Day party this year, why not create some homemade party invitations instead? Groundhog Day happens February 2nd, and as folklore states, the Groundhog determines whether spring will come early or winter will last longer that year. You are probably asking yourself how on earth you would create a party invitation to encompass that, but it’s a lot easier than you think.
Head over to your local craft store and pick up some heavy white cardstock. With your computer, use an invitation Word document template that you can fit four to six per sheet of paper. Use a clipart photo of a Groundhog and paste to the corner of your invitation. Type the rest of the invite as you normally would, print the invitations, and cut them to size. At your local party store, pick up a pair of disposable sunglasses. These disposable paper sunglasses are fairly inexpensive and can be purchased in boxes of ten to twenty. Include a pair of the disposable paper sunglasses in your envelope with your homemade party invitation and hand out to your guests. Tell guests to wear their sunglasses to the party as you all stand outside to await word from the Groundhog. It is a fun and expensive way to make handmade party invitations for your Groundhogs Day party this year.
For a Groundhog Day full of fun print the free games available on this site and take full advantage. Prepare many party favors and winning prizes for those who play the anticipated games. Make gift baskets and have outdoor activities as well indoor games like musical chairs, hot potato and a piñata full of goodies. The party favors can be engraved pencils or imprinted notepads.
