Handmade Mothers Day Invitations
For Mother’s Day, why not impress your guests and Mother with a homemade party invitation? Your guest of honor will appreciate the sentiment that much more and it’s an easy project that even the kids can help out with.
Make a quick trip to the local craft store and pick up pink, purple, and yellow cardstock papers in twelve inch by twelve inch sheets. Using either a template or by hand, cut your papers into a flower shape and ensure you have six evenly spaced petals with at least six to eight inches in diameter. Cut an opposing color paper in a circle to act as the center of your “flower”. This will also be the space in which you write your invitation, so make sure it is not a dark color. Once you have written out your invitation in the center of the flower, fold each petal into the center following the flower around clockwise. At the last petal, tuck it under the first and the fold should hold its shape. Use flower or even heart stickers to lightly seal the center for mailing. Address the opposite end and mail out your invitations. When your guests open them, they will be surprised to find a fully bloomed daisy. It is a cute and crafty way to invite your guests to celebrate that special someone this year and certainly a project for any budget.
To show mothers this year how much one appreciates them, have a big celebration with many party supplies. Start by having balloons, center pieces, and dangling ceiling decorations. Prepare desserts and snacks to keep our sweet tooth’s happy. Give engraved albums as party favors or imprinted calendars.
