Oscar Thank You NotesThank notes for an Oscar themed party are fun to create with your child. Oscar is Sesame Street's famous grouch, but it is a little known fact that he has perfect manners and would always send thank you notes. Get creative with your Oscar thank you notes and make them from felt. Remember felt crafts? Well kids still love them. Felt sheets are readily available at local craft stores. Print out a picture of Oscar in his garbage can smiling and waving. Glue it to heavy card stock and glue the card stock to a piece of felt. Now cut the excess card stock and felt away leaving only Oscar and his garbage can. Cut out two or three very basic house shapes and put the houses and Oscar on a blue felt background. On a piece a heavy card stock write something like” Hi (guest child’s name) Oscar was so glad that you came to the party he actually smiled and waved! Thank you so much for coming.” Glue this to the back of the blue felt piece. It will make the blue felt more stable and give the child something very special to play with.
Thank notes for an Oscar or any party should be mailed within a week of the party so it is a good idea to actually make them up ahead the time and then write on them after the party. Don’t pass them out at the party because that seems very impersonal and the last thing you want after all the work you put into the party itself is cookie cutter, thank you notes.
