Start the fun of your poker party with handmade invitations. These invitations are quick and easy to make while still giving your guests a special homemade party invitation. You will need green felt, several decks of playing cards, medium weight, light colored card stock. . You will also need glue and gold and / or silver gel pens. This is one handmade invitation that definitely makes purchasing larger envelopes worthwhile. I suggest the white 5x7 inch that are available at most office, stationary and discount department stores. Cut the card stock into rectangles that will fit inside the envelopes. Write your party information on one side of the card stock with the gel pens. Cut the felt to fit the card stock. This is easy if you use the card stock as a template for the felt. Your homemade invitation will be a winning poker hand. You can get four Royal Flushes from one deck of cards, one for each suit.
Pull the four Royal flushes out of each deck of cards. Take one suit at a time and glue the five cards of that suit’s Royal Flush together; Ace, Ten, Jack, Queen, King.
Spread your handmade flush out in the traditional fan shape; glue the Ten over the button right corner of the Ace, the Jack over to button right corner of the Ten and continuing until ending with the King on top. You must position the cards so you can easily see you homemade Royal Flush. Next, glue the Royal Flush to the center of the green felt and the felt to the front of the card stock. Let everything dry and slip it in your envelope, ready to mail.
