Handmade Retirement Invitations

Nothing says retirement like the beach and you can create Retirement homemade party invitations to reflect relaxation and a good time with friends and family. Retirement is a great opportunity to get to spend time with those you love because you now have the time. Start your retirement off on the right foot by throwing a Retirement party!

Some fun Retirement party invitations explore the beach theme. The beach theme is perfect because it caters to a stress free way of life. It is also easy to accomplish through a handmade invitations. You can use cardstock and natural elements to make a beautiful eye catching invitation.

First take a plain sheet of white cardstock and fold it in half. Next, get some water paints and divide the card in half on the front horizontally with one half being beige colored, or brown and the sky being blue. You can also make a sky with a sunset look by making lines of orange, purple, dark blue, white, pink and more.

Tip: Use watercolors because they blend easily and do not weight the cardstock down. Using acrylic might cause the cardstock to warp.

After you are done painting, take liquid glue and spread it all over the beige area. Next, sprinkle some real sand over the glue so it sticks to the glue. This will give you a textured beach while incorporating natural elements. You can even find small twigs to glue onto the front of the card as well for an added effect. If you want to add texture to the sky, take cotton balls, stretch them out really thin and then glue them on the cardstock with a glue stick. Finally, include all the important information in the inside and you have a Retirement handmade party invitation that is beautiful and fun. Don't be afraid that planning a retirement party is a huge task. Once you decide on your venue, the rest will be fun. You can find some great decorations on the internet to save you time and money.
