Handmade Thanksgiving Invitations
As it comes time for planning your Thanksgiving get together, the last thing you want to think of is how to create a homemade party invitation. Turkey, potatoes, desserts, decorations, drinks, it is all so overwhelming this time of year! With such little time, you need a handmade party invitation that can captivate your guests, but not take you all day to create.
From your local craft store, pick up some beige, brown, orange, gold and red cardstock papers. Cut your beige cardstock paper into individual four by six inch sheets and set aside. With a template, cut out your brown paper into small turkeys that will fit into your beige card. Use the red and orange papers to create the tail feathers of your turkey and put it all together with a small amount of glue. On the opposite side of your turkey paste a small oval of the gold cardstock and write your invitation with a black or brown paint pen. Stuff your creations in gold or brown envelopes and mail off to your guests. It is a quick, but fun homemade party invitation that your guests will think you spent days on and your time can still be spent making Grandma’s favorite pie.
Thanksgiving tends to be a day where all family members gather for a nice warm meal and some fun. Make this event an unforgettable one with lots of party supplies like piñatas, table cloths, imprinted Turkey banners, posters and signs. Play outdoor games as well as some of the free printable games offered on this site for a day full of creative activities. Pass out goodie bags with candy, some confetti and mini toys, pencils and notepads.
