Handmade Twenties Invitations
A simple Twenties homemade party invitation is a great representation of the era. The first thing to decide when creating a Twenties party invitation and party décor is the color choices. Typical Twenties saw a lot of silver and gold mixed with blacks as a stepping stone to pop in color. Shimmery clothes adorned with headbands was the typical Twenties flapper woman.
A piece of black cardstock is a great start. Outline the black paper with a boarder of either silver or gold. If available, gold leaf works very well but gold paint will look good too. In the center of the cardstock, either in silver or gold, draw, paint or stamp a feather design. This could also be adorned with small miniature pearls or other twenties style jewelry.
Another option that can be made is to create a cigar case look on the front of the card and then include pictures of cigars on the left when the invite is opened and then the other important information for the guests on the right side.
Be sure not to forget information such as name, number, contact person, location and other applicable items. It is also the place to communicate any special needs or accommodations pertaining to the party. For example, if parking is an issue, as people to car pool or park in a certain location. This will save a lot of trouble when it comes to the day or night of the party and will ensure the twenties era party goes off without a hitch.
Make your twenties party a costume event and invite all the flappers over for some fun. You can make this celebration a twenties theme with a cocktails twist. Have lots of different drinks and serve appetizers throughout the night for awesome results. Have a blast and enjoy this twenties event surrounded by your loved ones.
